Project Engineer / Project Manager - Milford, MA

CIVIQ Smartscapes is looking for an up-and-coming Project Engineer to join our growing Technical Services team. In this role, you will gain valuable mentorship from our senior team members as you develop your own skills in managing the internal facing project deliverables for our growing product portfolio. As part of the frontline to our customers in the Technical Services team, you will help ensure that we continue to delight our customer portfolio by executing seamless deployment and meeting product development demands. You will develop relationships throughout the CIVIQ organization, extending to our customers and deployment partners to ensure follow through on defined project deliverables and expectations.  This role is a fit for you if you have a technical background in Engineering (Software, Mechanical or Networking) and a desire to develop and grow into a skilled Technical Program Manager. Responsibilities/Duties:

  • Develop project objectives by reviewing project proposals / plans and collaborating with the senior Technical Program Manager staff
  • Determine project specifications by studying product design, customer requirements, and performance standards; completing technical studies; preparing cost estimates
  • Determine appropriate project responsibilities by identifying project phases and elements and reviewing contractor bids
  • Staff project appropriately, assigning CIVIQ resources to phases and elements
  • Define project schedule by studying project plan and specifications; calculating time requirements; sequencing project elements
  • Maintain project schedule by monitoring project progress, coordinating activities, driving completion and resolving problems
  • Ensure smooth execution of project plan through reviewing design, specifications, and plan and schedule changes; recommending actions
  • Control project costs through collaboration with finance team in developing and finalizing contracts and approving appropriate expenditures
  • Prepare and distribute project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends and recommending appropriate next step actions
  • Responsible for planning and managing project resources and effectively communicating project progress, risks, and blockers to key internal stakeholders

Technical/Professional Knowledge/Skills:

  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Strong interpersonal savvy and relationship building skills
  • Exceptional communication and listening skills; both written and verbal
  • Calm under pressure, not easily rattled in managing multiple projects with tight deadlines
  • Proactive planning skills that allow you to stay ahead of the game
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% or as needed
  • Field engineering experience is a plus
  • PMP, CSM, or equivalent Project Management Training is a plus

Essential Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, IT, or related field required
  • 0 – 5 years in technical engineering or product development role
  • 0 – 3 years project management experience
  • Start-up environment experience is a plus
