Solutions Architect / Pre-Sales Engineer - US, Massachusetts preferred

CIVIQ Smartscapes is building a strong pre-sales team to rapidly increase customer and corporate growth.  This critical role supports the Chief Revenue Officer in leading the execution and management of our large project sales and revenue opportunities to fuel our expansion and growth. You will bring well-established public sector solutions architect experience with major metropolitan areas of the United States as you act as the key technical advisor and CIVIQ product specialist for our customers and prospects to help accelerate deal closure.  

This role can be located anywhere in the US with preference in Boston. CIVIQ is an emerging company requiring high quality and flexibility in execution, and the ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamically-changing environment.

 Major Responsibilities/Duties:

  • Understand CIVIQ’s line of products and services to identify opportunities that are well matched with our solutions and capabilities within public sector municipalities
  • Demonstrate CIVIQ’s capabilities to the public sector and be able to hold in-depth technical conversations as necessary
  • Work with Sales Executives to understand and translate technical, functional and business requirements into a viable CIVIQ Solution tailored for each client that helps educate customers and close business generating revenue
  • During the pre-sales process, lead the solution development and drive the proposal content for the response to the client proposal request
  • Act as customer advocate and leverage CIVIQ’s leaders in the sales and relationship management process
  • Provide program management leadership to certain key client engagements
  • Develop strong relationship with channel partners to further our solution, strategy and partnerships
  • Actively pursue and develop solutions partnerships to promote and sell CIVIQ Smartscapes urban infrastructure solutions with potential solutions partners that serve the municipal, education, and entertainment venue markets
  • Act as a CIVIQ SME; attend and present at Smart City events and conferences
  • Collaborate with engineering , marketing and the CIVIQ community to assist in evolving solutions & messaging
  • Implement and manage a reusable solution framework that can be leveraged during the pursuit process and provide the foundation for the client project work plan
  • Technical/Professional Knowledge/Skills:
  • Accomplished communicator and influencer, able to work with customers, users, senior level management, sales and peers
  • Knowledge of large-scale technology deployments with significant enterprise network and software components and/or digital media technology
  • Demonstrated ability to architect and program manage large enterprise deployments and implementations enabled by technology solutions with significant network and software components
  • C-level sales presentation acumen and highly skilled in effective communication
  • Strong solutions background including related sales methodologies
  • Proven ability to support large complex sales pursuits to successful closure
  • Excellent computer skills including Windows, Word, and Excel and 
  • Established public sector contacts within the major metropolitan areas of the United States is a plus
  • Strong understanding of IoT and smart cities category including smart city related services, integration, and infrastructure technologies is a plus

 Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree from accredited college or university or equivalent experience
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in architecting enterprise technology solutions with significant network and software components
  • At least 5 years plus of  experience in professional services consulting firms with demonstrated success in architecting solutions, leading projects, supporting proposals and closing new business
  • At least 5 years’ experience with large enterprise solution to government including the successful experience in developing winning RFP responses
  • Experience with Digital Out of Home Media (DOOH) is a plus

 Travel Requirements:

  • 75% domestic travel throughout the US and occasionally, international travel
