Systems/Network Engineer - Milford, MA

CIVIQ is looking for an independent, hands-on Systems/Network Engineer to assist in the deployment of the CIVIQ solution for our newly on boarded smart city customers. Your IT expertise will allow you to provide seamless IT systems engineering support for our pre-sales, post-sales and service activities with a strong emphasis on network engineering. Learn CIVIQ's IT system architecture and edge networks of Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs), computers and IoT devices, to specialize in the IT implementation our network architecture. Working closely with our sales teams and their prospects, you will analyze the projects’ available network infrastructure and IoT devices that may needed to be integrated. Our sales team will rely on you to explain how to best implement the unified CIVIQ solution and prepare technical IT documents required to support the sales process. Working closely with our service teams, you will be relied upon to implement and document project-specific IT configurations, including networking details along with routine troubleshooting and maintenance overtime.  

Major Responsibilities/Duties

  • Provide technical pre-sales and post-sales support to CIVIQ customers: explain the network and IT aspects of the CIVIQ technology, answer technical questions, generate technical documentation
  • Install and configure production-quality IT infrastructures with little or no management supervision
  • Test, document, troubleshoot, maintain and update installed devices and their infrastructure services
  • Communicate and train partners’ and customers’ technology organizations on the Civiq IT technology
  • Provide cross-functional support on all aspects of the CIVIQ unified platform including all hardware, software and network devices and their infrastructure services
  • Provide feedback from the field to our technology development teams and contribute to the design of our products and services 

Technical/Professional Knowledge/Skills

  • Experience installing, configuring, integrating, troubleshooting and maintaining network switches and firewalls, computers and their accessories, operating systems and software packages
  • Experience providing IT support services of the above technologies for operational enterprise systems
  • Analytical and problem solving skills
  • Comfort and skill in configuring, troubleshooting and managing complex enterprise-class LANs and WANs
  • Ability to troubleshooting and resolve web applications problems
  • Ability to manage network infrastructures to identify, diagnose, and resolve connection, reliability, or performance issues
  • Deep hands-on experience managing layer 2 and layer 3 configurations
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent customer service and support skills
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully and independently work on multiple projects simultaneously, and effectively organize and prioritize multiple tasks

Education & Experience

  • BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • Experience configuring, troubleshooting and managing complex enterprise-class LANs and WANs
  • Deep hands-on experience managing layer 2 and layer 3 configurations is a must
  • IT support experience of Linux-based systems is a must
  • At least 2 years of experience configuring, installing and updating complex IT systems
  • At least 2 years of experience providing hands-on troubleshooting and customer support of complex systems that integrate complex hardware, software and network technologies
  • At least one year of experience troubleshooting web applications and managing network infrastructures to identify, diagnose, and resolve connection, reliability, or performance issues
  • Experience configuring and managing CISCO, Fortigate, and Avaya configuration is strong plus.
